DUKE CENTER — Reilly Raught keyed an impressive Otto-Eldred comeback with 10 kills and 19 digs as the Terrors rallied from 2-1 deficit to top Smethport in five sets on Monday.
The Terrors fell behind 23-25, 25-22, 24-26 before taking the last two sets in a commanding 25-13, 15-8 fashion.
Morgan Dalton (14 digs, 14 aces and five service points) and Emmalee Sheeler (10 assists, nine service points, six aces) also helped the Terrors (11-4, 9-2) rally.
The win kept the Terrors a game ahead of Coudersport in the NTL standings, with the two teams meeting for a pivotal match at Coudy on Wednesday.
Smethport fell to 3-9 with the loss.
Cameron County 3, Galeton 2
GALETON— Cameron County outlasted Galeton, 25-22, 24-26, 25-22, 19-25, 20-18, in an epic match that went five points past the 15 set points needed to win the fifth and deciding set.
Taylor Britton recorded 10 kills and three aces while Hailey Hilfiger added eight kills and three blocks for the Red Raiders (8-4, 8-4). Alyvia McKimm ran the offense for Cameron County with 19 assists while adding 17 digs and three kills, and Mallory McKimm had five aces.
It was the second time this season CC beat Galeton (7-7, 6-6) in a five-set thriller.
Coudersport 3, Austin 0
AUSTIN — Shaelyn Black had nine kills and nine aces to key Coudersport to a 25-16, 25-13, 25-12 sweep.
Erica Williams added six kills and Mikayla Kavounas totaled seven aces and seven assists for the Falcons (9-4, 9-3). Taylor Brewer had three kills, six aces and two blocks and Angelina Watson notched two kills, seven digs, four aces and two blocks for the Panthers. Cerissa Glover chipped in two kills and three aces (1-10).
Northern Potter 3, Oswayo Valley 0
ULYSSES — Savannah Herring’s 10 kills and two blocks powered Northern Potter to a three-set sweep (25-18, 25-23, 25-23) over Oswayo Valley on Monday.
Marissa Bliss (four aces, 14 assists), Madison Hoopes (nine assists, three kills, two aces) and Courtney Martin (11 digs, two kills, one ace) also helped the Lady Panthers (2-11, 2-10) to their second league win.
Northern Potter travels to Port A for its next match on Wednesday.
Oswayo Valley fell to 4-9 in NTL play with the loss.
Cuba-Rushford 3, Port Allegany 0
CUBA, N.Y. — Rebekah Clark posted four aces, three kills, 22 digs and five assists and C-R got by a tough Gators squad with a 25-23, 25-23, 25-17 triumph in a high-level interstate non-league showdown Monday.
C-R, which has had only two matches go beyond three sets this year, including a five-set win over Fillmore, moved to 12-0. On Monday, it topped a Port Allegany team that had lost to Olean High this season and was unbeaten in North Tier League action.
Kate Howe totaled four aces, six kills and 31 assists and Madi Whitcher chipped in two aces and 11 kills for the Rebels.
“They’re very good,” Tompkins said. “They’re probably the best team we’ve played this year. The girls played great.”
Erin Stauffer (10 service points) had seven kills and Kierra Keck added three kills and three blocks for Port Allegany (12-3).
