The annual event was held in honor of St. Francis, the patron saint of all animals. The service provided  blessings for several dogs and cats from the community, many of which were SPCA shelter animals, as well as privately owned pets. “Snickers,” another mixed breed dog named “Shorty” and several cats at the event are in need of good homes, shelter staff said.
