HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Secretary Leslie S. Richards on Thursday announced that the overall condition of state-maintained bridges has improved compared to January 2015.
PennDOT has also unveiled a new “Bridge Conditions” map at www.projects.penndot.gov where the public can view conditions of state and locally-owned bridges.
“Our roadways receive a lot of attention, but the safety of our bridges is also crucial to keeping goods and people moving in our communities,” Richards said. “We have many, very old bridges and we are doing everything we can to replace bridges when needed, while maintaining and preserving others to extend their useful life.”
