The Bradford boys golf team scored a key late-season result with a 214-254 victory over Ridgway on Monday afternoon at Pine Acres Country Club.
Spencer Cornelius medaled and shot a 38 to lead the Owls, while Joe Gorse (43), Joey Frigo (43), A.J. Gorse (44) and Tommy Anderson (46) all contributed to Bradford’s best day on the golf course this year.
“It was the best we shot all season by about four strokes,” Bradford coach Travis Faulkner said. “Spencer did really well with his three-over and had two birdies while A.J. Gorse eagled his first hole and shot a season-low.”
Cornelius followed up his second-place finish at districts over the weekend with his strong score on Monday.
“Spencer has done really well of late and played the course beautifully tonight,” Faulkner said. “He finished with two birdies and a couple of pars on the day and was consistent all-around.”
Zach Zameroski (45), Eric Christoph (47), Greg Simon (50), Luke Tomaski (55) and Michael Gresko (57) scored for the Elkers.
Monday’s win sent Bradford to 6-1 on the season, with its next match on Wednesday against Elk County Catholic at Kane.
