A man is facing allegations that he frightened people Monday morning in downtown Bradford by carrying a rifle and pointing it.
Bradford City Police stated that at 8:50 a.m. Monday, they responded to Forman Street near Save-A-Lot grocery store for a report that an intoxicated male was carrying a rifle, causing alarm, as the rifle was pointed at people.
Officers reportedly found Donald J. Reed, who was under the influence of alcohol, walking with the rifle near the intersection of Forman and Kennedy streets.
They seized the rifle from Reed; it was not loaded, but Reed did have one magazine that had ammunition, according to police.
Officers took Reed into custody and transported him to the Bradford City Station for booking.
Police stated that charges have been filed against Reed, but it was unclear at press time what those charges are or if he had been arraigned.
