SMETHPORT — The Red Raiders won a back-and-forth, five-set slugfest on Thursday to improve to 4-2 overall and in North Tier League play, defeating Smethport 25-18, 25-27, 25-19, 28-30, 15-6.
Among the key contributors for Cameron County were Alyvia McKimm (five kills, 13 assists, six digs), Kaelee Bresslin (10 kills, two aces, nine digs), and Morgan Lorenzo (four aces, six kills, six digs).
Pacing Smethport (2-4 overall, 2-4 NTL) were Willow Lapp (24 digs, five kills, one assist, one block), Emily Gustafson (nine digs, nine kills, three assists, six blocks), and MyKayla Deyarmin (six digs, 13 assists, three aces, eight kills).
Cameron County will host Coudersport on Monday, while smethport will travel to Oswayo Valley on Monday.
Port Allegany 3, Austin 0
AUSTIN — The Lady Gators remained perfect in North Tier League play (6-0) with a straight set victory over Austin, defeating the Panthers (0-6 overall, 0-6 NTL) 25-11, 25-16, 25-14.
Jenna Sprankle led the way for Port A with 22 assists and 15 service points. Kayla Pesock had eight kills and five digs, Kierra Keck notched five kills, three blocks, and six points, and Kalyn Naylor finished with six kills and nine points.
Port Allegany (7-1 overall) will visit Olean on Saturday in a rematch of the Gators’ only loss this season.
Otto-Eldred 3, Oswayo Valley 0
DUKE CENTER — The Lady Terrors rolled to a straight-set victory on Thursday, downing the Green Wave 25-16, 25-20, 25-15.
Harlee VanScoter finished with 14 kills, six blocks, 15 digs, and three aces for Otto-Eldred. Veronica Benini (five kills, five digs, five points, three aces) and Emmalee Sheeler (16 assists, nine points, two aces) also had nice performances for the Terrors.
Naomi Cook had four kills, two blocks, three digs, and three points for OV (4-4 overall, 3-4 NTL), while Macy West had four blocks and one kill.
Otto-Eldred (7-1 overall, 5-1 NTL) visits Portville tonight.
