SMETHPORT — A Bradford woman was sentenced to 18 months probation for retail theft and ordered to a local substance abuse treatment as soon as possible during sentencing in McKean County Court Thursday.
Tami McCormick, 41, had entered a guilty plea in court on retail theft Sept. 6 when tests conducted at the courthouse found she had controlled substances in her system. McCormick, who was incarcerated for that offense 15 days until Thursday, was reproached by McKean County Senior Judge John Pavlock for her use of controlled substances the last time she appeared before him. Pavlock said he had “grave concern” for McCormick’s well-being and her ability to stay away from drug use before entering treatment at Maple Manor when a bed becomes available sometime in October.
In addition to probation and treatment, other conditions of McCormick’s release include that she visit the McKean County Probation office twice a week for substance abuse testing; and serve 60 hours of community service. She was also ordered to make $353 restitution to Walmart and to stay away from that store and Tops Friendly Market, both in Bradford.
Also in court, Jeremy L. Anderson, 35, currently incarcerated in Warren County Jail on unrelated charges, entered a guilty plea for accidents involving damage and summaries for an accident he caused with an attended vehicle on U.S. Route 6 in Wetmore Township on April 22. He will be sentenced Oct. 11.
Joshua Safford, 37, entered a guilty plea for criminal conspiracy and violations of the drug act for the operation of a methamphetamine lab between Jan. 13 and Jan. 24 in McKean County. He will be sentenced Oct. 25.
Seth A. Hanes, 20, of Duke Center, pleaded guilty to charges of simple assault and harassment, theft from a motor vehicle, a firearms violation and receiving stolen property. Between May 20 and June 7 in Port Allegany, Hanes took a 9mm handgun with an empty cartridge from a vehicle. Hanes was not allowed to possess a firearm due to prior adjudications. He also took a number of items, including driver’s licenses, credit cards and debit cards from other vehicles. In separate charges, Hanes was charged with pushing his girlfriend to the ground and striking her in the cheek on April 24. He will be sentenced Oct. 11.
Mindy L. Nichols, 31, Smethport, entered a guilty plea for violations of the drug act, criminal conspiracy, causing/risking a catastrophe and endangering the welfare of a child. Between June 3, 2017 and Jan. 24, Nichols manufactured meth in her home, exposing children to the substance. She was reportedly part of an ongoing methamphetamine manufacturing ring in the county. She will be sentenced Oct. 11.
Robert N. Krehl, 58, Smethport, entered a guilty plea on charges of simple assault and harassment stemming from an incident on May 8 when he caused injury to a woman by striking her in the face; and for firearms possession of a .38 revolver on May 22. He will be sentenced Oct. 11.
Mitchell K. Schillinger, 24, Bradford, entered a guilty plea to simple assault stemming from an incident on July 5 at the Lighter Side bar in Bradford. During the incident, Schillinger struck and kicked an individual on the ground, causing injuries to the victim’s face. He will be sentenced Oct. 25.
Matthew S. Bundy, 27, Bradford, entered a guilty plea to simple assault stemming from an incident on July 5 at the Lighter Side bar in Bradford. During the incident, Bundy struck and kicked an individual on the ground, causing injuries to the victim’s face. He will be sentenced Oct. 11.
Sarah M. Waid, 34, Rixford, entered a guilty plea for subsequent conviction and summaries stemming from an incident on Feb. 4 when she was operating a vehicle while her license was revoked and collided with an unattended vehicle. Waid stopped at the accident, but failed to remain at the scene. She will be sentenced Oct. 25.
Steven Pazinski, 59, entered a guilty plea for charges of harassment that occured between Feb. 4, 2016 and Aug. 30, 2017. During that time frame, Pazinski repeatedly made harassing calls to the office of a Bradford dentist. He will be sentenced Sept. 27.
Levi E. Cliff, 23, Eldred, entered a guilty plea for charges of simple assault and harassment stemming from an incident on July 15 in Ceres when he struck a women in the face. He will be sentenced Oct. 25.
Timothy M. Cline, 33, Bradford, entered a guilty plea to amended charges of harassment for making threatening statements to a woman on June 26. He is credited for 72 days served and his sentence will be on Sept. 27.
Julio Massas, 39, Hazelton, entered a guilty plea for charges of access device fraud, theft and receiving stolen property and theft by deception stemming from incidents between Jan. 2 to Dec. 29, 2017. Massas used a credit card from Seneca Distribution, where he was employed, and charged more than $12,918. He will be sentenced Oct. 11.
Dustin S. Feronti, 29, Kane, entered a guilty plea on charges of violation of the drug act stemming from an incident in Kane on May 14. He will be sentenced Oct. 11.
Sandra L. Acevedo, 54, Kane, a guilty plea for providing false ID to law enforcement and summaries stemming from an incident on April 27. She was ordered to pay $200 in fines, 25 hours of community service and 90 days of probation, with supervision until she completes the terms of the sentence.
