The five public libraries in McKean County had a busy summer.
The Bradford Area Public Library, Hamlin Memorial Library in Smethport, Friends Memorial Library in Kane, Mount Jewett Memorial Library and S.W. Smith Memorial Public Library in Port Allegany had a total of 3,207 people attend their 156 summer programs.
The libraries served a total of 1,868 snacks through the USDA Summer Food Service program.
A total of 335 children signed up for summer reading and tracked their reading and activities this summer.
The summer reading community partners were the Eldred World War II Museum, C&N Bank, McKean County Conservation District, DoG Street Music, Jim Ronan and the Juice Box Heroes, Mountain Melodies, Jeffini the Great Magician, Yoga with Amy Mickle, YWCA Bradford, Penn State 4-H, Sun-Dance-Kids Farm petting zoo, Bradford YMCA, University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, Northwest Bank, Pennsylvania Nutrition Education, St. Bonaventure Art Mobile, Science Tellers, United Way of the Bradford Area, Pennsylvania Lumber Museum, Kane Marching Band, Pennsylvania Game Commission and McKean County school districts.
