DUBOIS — The Lady Owls fell back to .500 with a three-set defeat (16-25, 16-25, 17-25) to DuBois in D-9 Laurel League play on Tuesday.
Alexis Huber had six kills to lead Bradford. Ashton Himes and Morgan Tyger logged three and two kills, respectively.
No stats were provided for the Lady Beavers (5-1).
“DuBois is a well-oiled machine,” Bradford coach Steve Daniels said. “They are well-coached and are legit. They put the whole district on watch.”
Bradford (3-3, 3-1) returns home on Thursday to play St. Marys.
Port Allegany 3, Galeton 1
PORT ALLEGANY — Port Allegany remained undefeated in North Tier League play with a four-set victory over the Lady Tigers.
The Gators escaped the first set 25-23 before finishing off Galeton, 25-11, 21-25 and 25-12 to improve to 6-1 on the season and 5-0 in league.
Jenna Sprankle paced Port A with 19 assists and eight aces. Erin Stauffer (13 digs, four kills, four aces) and Kayla Pesock (seven kills, seven digs, three aces) also contributed to the victory.
“We started out slow and started out down seven or eight in that first set,” Port Allegany coach Pam Terrette said. “But we came back and we got our serves going. We had 24 aces tonight.”
Marika Lechler recorded four kills and two aces, while Brielle Kalachski had five kills and two aces for Galeton (3-4, 3-3).
Port A has a one-game lead over Otto-Eldred in the NTL standings.
“We lost to Olean in our first game of the year, but we made some adjustments and lineup changes and we’ve seen the results now with six straight wins.”
Oswayo Valley 3, Austin 1
SHINGLEHOUSE — Oswayo Valley (3-3, 2-3) swept the Lady Panthers 25-12, 25-9, 25-17 as Macy West had three kills and seven aces, MacKenzie George three kills, five points, four aces and six kills and Olivia Jandrew five points and eight assists.
Austin fell to 0-5.
Otto-Eldred 3, Cameron County 0
EMPORIUM — Otto-Eldred won its sixth consecutive match by sweeping Cameron County 25-21, 25-13, 25-20.
The Terrors were once again led by senior Harlee VanScoter, who recorded 15 kills, seven blocks and six aces.
Veronica Benini contributed 11 kills, nine digs and four aces and Emmalee Sheeler had 10 assists, seven digs and four aces.
O-E (6-1, 4-1) have not lost since a season-opening setback to Galeton and host Oswayo Valley on Thursday.
For the Red Raiders, Mallory McKimm had eight kills and three aces while Tapanga Allison produced seven assists.
Cameron County (3-2, 3-2) travels to Smethport on Thursday.
