RIDGWAY — The Bradford volleyball team lost its second tough match in as many days as the Lady Owls fell in four sets to Ridgway on Tuesday 25-21, 16-25, 18-25, 13-25.
Bradford had to come back less than 24 hours after playing a five-set marathon against Otto-Eldred on Monday.
“Ridgway was tough,” Bradford coach Steve Daniels said. “It’s hard going up against a tough team after you played a five-setter the night before.”
Alexis Huber and Ashton Himes both notched seven kills for Bradford while Laney Kahle added 20 assists.
The Bradford JV team lost in three sets.
Bradford (2-2 overall, 2-1 Laurel League) will host Johnsonburg on Thursday.
NORTH TIER LEAGUE
Coudersport 3, Austin 0
COUDERSPORT — The Falcons won their third consecutive match with a three-set sweep (25-9, 25-8, 25-20) over Austin in North Tier League play on Tuesday.
“The girls played well today,” Coudy head coach Brian Green said. “Mikayla Gunn and Mikayla Kavounas both served well for us.”
Kavounas had nine aces and four kills to lead the Falcons (3-1), while Gunn provided eight aces and three kills.
Shaelyn Black and Dana Dubots had four and three kills for the Falcons, respectively.
Oswayo Valley 3, Northern Potter 0
SHINGLEHOUSE — Naomi Cook totaled eight kills, four digs and four aces to key Oswayo Valley to its first win of the season, 25-21, 28-26, 25-16.
Karley Carpenter added three aces, six digs and five blocks for the Green Wave (1-2).
Savannah Herring had 10 kills and two blocks, Marissa Bliss posted 11 assists and nine digs and Madison Hoopes had three aces and seven digs for NoPo (0-3).
Otto-Eldred 3, Smethport 0
SMETHPORT — Otto-Eldred won its second match in as many nights with a dominant three-set sweep (25-10, 25-19, 25-17) over Smethport on Tuesday.
Harlee VanScoter led the Terrors (3-1) with 17 kills, three blocks, 18 digs, 14 service points.
Emilie Reitler contributed 20 assists, three digs and a kill while Veronica Benini added four kills, four digs and three aces.
Both teams play Coudersport for their next match; Otto hosts the Lady Falcons on Thursday, while Smethport plays them on Tuesday.
Cameron County 3, Galeton 2
EMPORIUM — The Lady Red Raiders completed an impressive rally to top Galeton in a five-set (25-22, 15-25, 22-25, 25-23, 16-14) match that came down to the final point.
Morgan Lorenzo’s 32 digs and six kills powered Cameron County to a comeback down two sets to one in the match.
Alyvia McKimm (10 assists) and Taylor Britton (three aces, four kills) also contributed to the win for the Red Raiders (2-1).
Brielle Kalacinski had five kills, three blocks and 18 receives to lead Galeton (2-2). Makenna Schumacher added seven assists.
Cameron County travels to Austin for its next match on Thursday.
