The United Way of the Bradford Area’s Board of Directors announced Wednesday that Kelly Zurat Case will be rejoining the organization, serving as interim executive director while the search continues for a permanent replacement.
“We are beyond thrilled to have Kelly’s knowledge and expertise to assist with this transition process, and appreciate her willingness to re-join the organization in this capacity,” said Karen Costello-Pecht.
Case served as executive director from 2009-11, but has a long history with the organization as a volunteer, advocate, board member and Red Feather recipient.
“I am happy to be able to help,” Case admitted. “This is the busiest time for the United Way, but Mandi (Wilton Davis) has helped me reacquaint myself with all the mechanics of the campaign and so forth.”
Davis announced in August that she would be resigning, effective Friday, to take a position as coordinator for admissions communications at St. Bonaventure University.
Secretary Jodie Wagner said the board is reviewing applications for the position. Wagner said Case’s acceptance of the interim position is allowing the board time to effectively evaluate candidates to ensure the right individual is in place for the success of the UWBA.
Additionally, the board has recruited long-time volunteer Mary Ann Quinn to serve as an office assistant while the hiring process continues for the administrative assistant position.
“This is a unique position to be in, hiring for both staff members at the same time, but we are working diligently to ensure that the office is adequately run during the campaign season,” said Wagner. “We are confident that we have an appropriate structure in place, and are so appreciative of both Kelly and Mary Ann for committing their time and talents.”
Case said the strength of the local United Way lies in the mission. “The faces the community sees may be different, but the end result is always the same.
“Mary Ann and I are honored to be able to carry that mission to the community again this year,” Case concluded.
Tonight, the local United Way will celebrate the 20th annual Pig Roast/Clam Bake, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Bradford Township Lions Club.
