RIDGWAY — A Ridgway man died after he was thrown from his motorcycle Tuesday morning in Horton Township.
Scott N. Covert, 57, of Ridgway was transported by medical helicopter to UPMC Altoona and died from his injuries, Ridgway-based state police reported.
According to police, at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, a 2003 Harley Davidson driven by Covert was traveling south on U.S. Route 219, just north of Toby Road. The motorcycle struck a deer that had entered the road, and Covert was thrown from the vehicle.
