FRANKLIN — Mikayla Bond scored less than a minute into the game and Regan Johnson added three tallies as the Lady Owls defeated Franklin 4-0 on Tuesday.
Bond’s early goal was set up by passes from Marissa Miller and Chloe Shaw up the field.
According to Bradford head coach Warren Shaw, the play and the passing from his midfielders was the difference in the game.
“Liz Miller was a workhorse in the middle of the field and is really growing into that role,” Shaw said. “Miller along with Emily Bosworth (two assists), Shaw, Kylee Lekas and Abbie Nuzzo controlled the game in the middle.”
In net, the Lady Owls used a combined effort from Mackenzie Lucas and Rylee Close to shutout the Lady Knights. Bradford has now won its last two games by a combined score of 10-0.
“Overall the girls worked hard all game long and have shown a lot of toughness,” Shaw said. “The leaders on this team have truly stepped up and we are very proud of this group.”
Bradford will look to notch its third straight win against McDowell at home on Thursday.
