KANE — A Kane woman is facing charges including false imprisonment for an incident at her residence in July.
Stevie Schmidt, 26, of 610 N. Fraley St., Apt G, is also charged with criminal mischief and harassment.
According to court records, at 4:30 a.m. July 8, state police were called to her residence for a possible overdose. When police arrived, James Ackley told them he had been attempting to leave her residence for about 30 minutes, but she was preventing him from leaving. He told police he felt he was not free to leave during that time. He said Schmidt had ripped his pants, took his cellphone and wallet and smashed his phone, the records read.
Schmidt was arraigned Thursday before District Judge David Engman and released on $2,500 unsecured bail. She is scheduled to appear in Central Court Aug. 23.
