ELDRED — Faculty planning was a top agenda item for the Otto-Eldred School District board meeting held at the elementary technology center on Tuesday.
A list of teaching assignments for the school year was approved along with Kiley Wojewoda being placed as a full-time elementary teacher. Regina Gabriel will fill a half-time elementary music position.
The board also accepted resignations from high school English teacher Sam Kysor and paraprofessional Jamie Fisher.
In paraprofessional staffing, Jennifer McDonald and Stacey Lamberton were approved to fill vacant positions at the elementary.
Cafeteria positions that were approved included Linda Strait (dishwasher), Tina Baker (dishwasher) and Stacey Lamberton (dining monitor). Dylan Bradt, Brianna Buchsenschutz, Taylor Palmer, Margaret Hewitt and Tammy Starks were all approved as substitutes.
Supplemental and volunteer positions included Chad Sebastian as jr. a junior high football game manager, Ed Reitler as varsity football game manager and boys basketball game manager, Amy Jordan as junior high volleyball game manager and Melissa Merry as junior high scorekeeper. Mark Miller was approved as a volunteer for junior varsity and varsity volleyball.
A list of substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, a nurse and bus drivers were also approved by the board.
In new business, a bid from Forest County Wood Products was accepted for lumber products for the shop class. The board also gave Superintendent Matthew Splain permission to start cafeteria repairs.
The board approved continuing its agreement with Charles Cole Memorial Hospital to provide an athletic trainer to the district. Also, a contract with the IU9 was approved to provide virtual academy services for the district’s students.
Lastly, the board approved a field trip to the Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall in Coudersport in September.
Otto-Eldred students will start their first day on Wednesday, Aug. 22. Parents and students are reminded to visit the school’s website www.ottoeldred.org to stay up to date on district information.
