Within hours of being reported stolen on Monday, a vehicle was recovered and the suspect under arrest.
Braxton Martin Reese, 22, of 191½ Congress St., is charged with theft and receiving stolen property, third-degree felonies, and driving with a suspended license DUI related.
According to court records, at 8:07 a.m. Monday, Bradford City Police Sgt. Todd Erickson responded to a call of a stolen vehicle from the Avenue B residence of James Zanelli. The Jeep had been parked on the street in front of his residence. There had been a magnetic keyholder kept hidden on the vehicle, court records stated.
Erickson entered the stolen vehicle’s information into a national database and reported it to area law enforcement agencies. At 12:54 p.m., McKean County Sheriff’s Deputy Gregg Boser reported he had the Jeep stopped on Bolivar Drive, and had the driver — Reese — in custody, court records allege.
While checking Reese’s driver’s information, officers found his license was suspended from a prior DUI conviction, the records stated.
Reese was arraigned before District Judge Dom Cercone and remanded to jail in lieu of $1,500 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Aug. 23.
