An intoxicated male who allegedly threatened to kill someone with a knife at his residence early Friday morning is in McKean County Jail.
David R. Levey, 51, of 18 W. Corydon St., is charged with terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; and simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor.
According to court records, at 4:10 a.m. Friday, Bradford City Police were called to Levey’s residence for a call of a man threatening people with a knife. Two women and a man were waiting outside for police, and told them Levey was inside the residence and had threatened to kill the man.
Officers went inside and found Levey, intoxicated, in an upstairs bedroom. He was held at taser point until officers secured a knife with a cap on it that was within Levey’s reach.
The others at the residence told police there had been a minor argument that escalated into a physical exchange involving a broom and a shovel. When that was over, Levey retrieved a knife, removed the cap from it and threatened to kill the man, causing the other three people to flee the residence, court records allege.
Levey was arraigned before on-call District Judge Bill Todd and remanded to jail in lieu of $5,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in McKean County Central Court on Thursday.
