SMETHPORT — A Bradford man pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court to charges in two cases: a theft case and a false report case.
Mathew K. Frederick, 27, entered the guilty plea in one case to a charge of theft by unlawful taking and in the second to a charge of false reports-reported offense did not occur.
Assistant District Attorney Ashley Shade said that on April 14, Frederick reported to law enforcement a false story that someone held a knife to his throat and threatened to kill him; then, on April 17, Frederick took someone’s LG cell phone valued at $100.
He will be sentenced Aug. 30.
Also in court, Vincent P. Gagliardi, 25, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility. District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer said that on Oct. 3, Gagliardi delivered about 6.7 grams of marijuana while under surveillance of the McKean County Drug Task Force; he arranged the sale using Facebook messenger. Gagliardi will be sentenced Aug. 30.
Adam D. Weaver, 26, of Limestone, N.Y., pleaded no contest to a charge of aggravated harassment by a prisoner. Shaffer said that on June 1, while Weaver was in a holding cell in the Bradford City Police Station, he spit saliva on an officer. He will be sentenced Aug. 30.
Timothy M. Schuster, 19, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of resisting arrest. On April 25, Schuster tried to run when Foster Township Police tried to arrest him; a physical struggle ensued, but police were able to take him to the ground and handcuff him, according to Shaffer. He will be sentenced Aug. 30.
Amber L. Harris, 22, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. According to Assistant District Attorney Jerry Grill, between Sept. 2-5 in 2017, Harris stole a personal check valued at $200. She will be sentenced Thursday.
Isaac D. Hilyer, 22, of Eldred, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by unlawful taking. On July 1, 2017, Hilyer stole $84, Shade said. He will be sentenced Aug. 30
Milton L. Jones Jr., 55, of Kane, pleaded guilty to a charge of theft by unlawful taking. On Jan. 19, Jones took someone’s wallet, which was valued at $50, said Grill. Jones will be sentenced Aug. 30.
Garrett J. Coder, 20, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He will be sentenced Aug. 30.
Melissa J. Pearsall, 24, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to one charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was sentenced to one year of probation.
