The United Way of the Bradford Area announced Wednesday that Executive Director Mandi Wilton Davis has resigned, effective Sept. 7.
“It is with a mix of sadness and gratitude that we announce Mandi’s departure,” said UWBA Board President Dave Krantz. “Since 2013, she has played a critical role in the development and success of the United Way, and while we will miss her and her inspiring leadership, we wish her the best of luck in her new endeavor.”
Davis has accepted the position of coordinator for admissions communications at St. Bonaventure University. In her new role, she will be a member of the enrollment leadership team, responsible for coordinating the office’s multi-channel, integrated marketing/communication plan that encompasses all forms of media and relevant audiences; collaborating with the University’s office of Marketing & Communications; and maintaining relationships with outside vendors and contractors.
“This is a very bittersweet announcement, because I have such a strong passion for the UWBA, and I am so proud of this organization’s accomplishments during my tenure,” said Davis. “But, I am also very excited to accept this position at my alma mater, a place for which I also have a strong passion.”
In her 5 ½ year tenure as executive director, Davis was involved in many significant accomplishments, including five successful Bradford campaigns, which collectively raised $1,723,621 (101% of collective goals); five successful Smethport campaigns, which collectively raised $76,300; the transition into the Port Allegany community, which has raised $33,609 in two years; selection as UWW LEAD participant (one of 30 nationwide; selection based on leadership and capacity of United Way system); implementation of the McKean County 2-1-1 system; and implementation of the BHS Student Ambassadors and University of Pittsburgh at Bradford’s Student United Way.
Over the next few months, the UWBA board of directors will be conducting a search to find the new executive director.
“During this transition period, it is our priority to find the best individual to lead, while still maintaining a stable and effective organization,” said Krantz.
