JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The National Comedy Center has added even more dialogues and performances to its opening week lineup that starts this Wednesday and runs through Sunday.
The comedy-filled roster that already included Amy Schumer, Lily Tomlin, Dan Aykroyd, Laraine Newman, Lucie Arnaz, Fran Drescher, Alan Zweibel and more has grown to include Lewis Black, W. Kamau Bell, Judy Gold, Hari Kondabolu, Tom Cotter, Dulcé Sloan, Pete Lee, a dedication by Dan Aykroyd of his Harley-Davidson to the National Comedy Center and more.
In addition to new events, the National Comedy Center is offering timed-entry admission to the new attraction so that no visit during grand opening week is too crowded. First admissions to the National Comedy Center will begin daily at 9 a.m., and last admissions will take place at 5 p.m.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be witness to the opening of a national-scale attraction. Be part of history this week, grab an admission reservation and take part in an incredibly special moment for Jamestown,” said Journey Gunderson, National Comedy Center executive director.
Highlights include, on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., a stand-up showcase featuring Lewis Black, W. Kamau Bell, Tom Cotter, Judy Gold, Hari Kondabolu, Kerri Louise and more. (Reg Lenna)
On Thursday, at 4 p.m., will be Comedy and the First Amendment, A Reflection on Lenny Bruce. Panelists include Kitty Bruce, attorney Paul Cambria and Lewis Black (Robert H. Jackson Center). At 7 p.m. will be Saturday Night Live Originators: Hazy Recollections from Aykroyd, Newman & Zweibel. Moderated by Ron Bennington (Reg Lenna). At 10:30 p.m. will be Comedy Late Night (Tropicana Room).
On Friday, at noon will be a conversation w/ Barry Dougherty & Tom Cotter (Tropicana Room). At 5 p.m., will be Kovacs, Adams & Winters National Comedy Center Dialogue, featuring Josh Mills, son of Edie Adams, and Lucinda Winters, daughter of Jonathan Winters. It will be moderated by Dan Pasternack (Tropicana Room)
Also at 5 p.m. will be In Conversation with Fran Drescher, moderated by Kelly Carlin (Willow Bay Theater). At 6 p.m., will be the Aykroyd motorcycle dedication during block party preceding Amy Schumer’s 7 p.m. show (outside National Comedy Center)
At 7 and 9:30 p.m., will be Amy Schumer & Friends (Northwest Arena). At 9 and 11:30 p.m. will be Comedy Late Night (Tropicana Room).
On Saturday will be Story Pirates: Kids Comedy (Willow Bay Theater) at 11 a.m.
At noon will be “Sock It To Me” featuring Laugh-In producer & director, George Schlatter, moderated by Stephen J. Morrison, (CNN’s History of Comedy) (Tropicana Room).
At 5 p.m. will be a conversation with Ghostbuster’s Daughter featuring Violet Ramis-Stiel (Tropicana Room). At 6:30 p.m. will be Lucie Arnaz “I Got The Job!”: Songs From My Musical Past (Willow Bay Theater); at 8 p.m., An Evening of Classic Lily Tomlin (Reg Lenna); at 10:30 p.m., Comedy Late Night (Tropicana Room); and at 12:30 a.m., Set List w/ Paul Provenza (Tropicana Room).
