More drug charges have been filed against two Liberty Township residents who were jailed last week on allegations that they had a methamphetamine-making operation in their Liberty Township home.
Rory D. Ford, 35, and Patricia A. Larson, 32, both of Lower Portage Road, face new allegations that they delivered a Subutex pill, District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer announced.
They were arraigned Tuesday before District Judge William Todd, Shaffer said. The pair was already incarcerated on $60,000 each for the meth charges, but Todd set an additional $10,000 bail each on the new cases.
New charges against Larson are possession with the intent to deliver Subutex and delivery of a controlled substance, both felonies; and criminal use of a communication facility, a third-degree felony. Meanwhile, Ford is charged with conspiracy to possess with the intent to deliver Subutex and conspiracy to deliver Subutex, both felonies; and conspiracy-criminal use of a communication facility.
According to the criminal complaint, at 10:40 p.m. July 17, in a vehicle by their residence, Larson and Ford conspired to sell one Subutex pill in exchange for $40. Larson allegedly arranged the sale via cell phone.
“The same suspects were arrested last week for similar activity related to methamphetamine manufacturing and have been remanded to the McKean County Jail on those charges,” Shaffer noted.
The meth charges also stem from allegations on July 17 at 195 Lower Portage Road, court records indicate.
Larson and Ford are both incarcerated in McKean County Jail. They are scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday for the meth charges and on Aug. 2 for the Subutex charges.
The new charges were filed by Coudersport Borough (Potter County) Police.
Shaffer talked about the partnership between law enforcement in McKean and Potter counties.
“The collaboration between the two county task forces through the district attorneys of McKean and Potter counties is ongoing,” she said.
“The proximity between the two counties is such that collaboration between counties is vital to investigate drug crimes. Travel between counties is very common in drug activity and illegal drug activity between the two counties is monitored,” Shaffer explained.
