E & M Engineers and Surveyors, PC, Bradford, has announced the winners of its annual college scholarship, which has been named the Frederick J. Moricca III Memorial Scholarship.
The winners of the $1,000 scholarships are Corey Ingham of Scottsville, N.Y., and Nathaniel Ianson of Coudersport.
Moricca was a licensed land surveyor in Pennsylvania and New York, the president of the local chapter of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors and an advocate for promoting the land surveying and civil engineering professions to young people who were considering higher education studies.
He passed away unexpectedly on March 19. He is greatly missed by his E&M family, but E & M employees hope is that his professional legacy will be carried on through this scholarship.
Ianson graduated from Coudersport Area Jr./Sr. High School and is attending Penn State Behrend. He is pursuing a degree in civil engineering.
Ingham graduated from Wheatland-Chili High School and is attending SUNY Alfred. He is pursuing a degree in surveying and geomatics engineering.
The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage high school students to pursue a career in the field of civil engineering or land surveying. E & M Engineers and Surveyors, P.C., has an office in Bradford. E & M was founded in 1946 and provides Western New York and Northern Pennsylvania with civil engineering and land surveying services.
