ST. MARYS — A St. Marys man is facing drug and obstruction charges stemming from the investigation of a death Dec. 10 at his home, St. Marys City Police reported.
The online case docket indicates that Joseph R. Foster, 27, of 362 Fernwood Road has yet to be arraigned on the charges.
Foster is charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and obstructing the administration of law or other governmental function, both second-degree misdemeanors; possession of drug paraphernalia and five counts of possession of a controlled substance, all misdemeanors.
According to police, at 4:40 p.m. Dec. 10, Foster possessed heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, buprenorphine and marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Police said Foster hid the controlled substances and paraphernalia before calling 911 to report the death.
Police did not release the name of the deceased.
St. Marys City Police filed the charges Thursday.
The online court docket system indicates that Foster is incarcerated in Elk County Jail for drug-related charges in three other active criminal cases.
