Two men were arraigned Wednesday on allegations that they assaulted a man earlier this month at the Lighter Side.
Matthew S. Bundy, 27, of 35 Lake Circle Drive, Bradford, and Mitchell K. Schillinger, 24, of 19 Mechanic St., upper apartment, Bradford, were each arraigned before District Judge Dominic Cercone.
Bundy is charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, a first-degree felony; and two counts each of simple assault and conspiracy to commit simple assault, all second-degree misdemeanors.
Meanwhile, Schillinger is charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, a first-degree felony; and one count each of simple assault and conspiracy to commit simple assault, both second-degree misdemeanors.
According to the criminal complaint, at 12:18 a.m. July 5, Bundy approached Brian Ubrey inside the bar and started “provoking Ubrey in a fight.” Another male allegedly hit Ubrey, who fell to the ground, and four men allegedly “jumped” Ubrey and began punching him.
Other patrons broke up the fight, and, as Ubrey was walking to the door, he was allegedly punched again, causing him to fall to the ground, where he was punched and kicked, court records indicated.
Ubrey was treated at Bradford Regional Medical Center for orbital and left sinus fractures, and he had swelling and bruising to his face, the criminal complaint stated.
Bundy and Schillinger are both free, each having posted 10 percent of $5,000 bail. They are scheduled to appear in Central Court on July 26.
