MONDAY: Mondays aren’t all bad.
Frances Wolfe Haight shared this poem she wrote about what she likes about the day.
“Thanks for Mondays”
Thank you for Mondays, Lord,
And for letting me start anew,
I can let go of the old,
As long as I have you.
Monday dawns, crisp and clear,
As I plan for the coming week,
And for those that I hold dear,
Your presence I do seek.
Mondays hold a promise
Of better things to come,
So keep me busy, dear Lord,
As I begin to hum.
I throw away the garbage,
I make a list to do,
Mondays can be special, Lord,
As long as I have you.
I exercise with pleasure,
I cook a meal with a smile,
I pray that you’ll be with me
As I go that extra mile.
Mondays can be special days,
The Lord will be there, too,
Just ask him to help you
And he will be with you.
Frances recently wrote to us recently about another collection of poems and short stories she’s put together: “Overflowing Baskets of Blessings.”
Here’s a sample from the collection:
“Just Look Up”
As the clouds float through
The bright blue skies,
I look in amazement
With my old age eyes.
So fluffy and so white,
And moving along so slow,
Maybe the angels use them
To show them which way to go.
There’s no doubt they were created
By the Lord with a smile
They’re for us to daily enjoy,
As we travel life’s many miles.
So when you are outside,
Just look up and see
The clouds in their beauty
To please you and me.
