CHALLENGES: A photograph by a Bradford man appeared in the July/August 2018 edition of Pennsylvania Magazine.
Rick Bernhard’s photograph of the Kinzua Viaduct before a backdrop of fog earned an honorable mention in the 2018 Photo Contest’s Overlook/Scenic View category.
Now that the magazine’s photo contest is over, it has another challenge for its readers: a scavenger hunt.
For the Super Summer Scavenger Hunt contest, there are 15 things to collect, such as a photo of your family in front of a public sign for your hometown and a ticket for a boat ride in Pennsylvania.
Every family that mails back a complete entry form will receive a T-shirt. The magazine will present first, second and third place awards to the most creative submissions.
To take part, visit www.pa-mag.com/2018scavenger to find the complete list of items and the official entry form. Deadline to complete the Pennsylvania hunt is Sept. 22.
That hunt is just in Pennsylvania, but if you’re looking for a more global event, you can sign up for a worldwide scavenger hunt.
However, even if you’re reading this first thing this morning, you have less than 24 hours to get on board.
The Greatest International Scavenger Hunt — aka GISH an formerly GISHWHES — gives participants a chance to “join players in over 100 countries for the weirdest, most exciting adventures of your life,” according to hunt organizers.
According to the countdown on the hunt’s website, www.gish.com, people have until about 3 a.m. Saturday (in Bradford time) to sign up. You’ll need a team of nine to 15 players to take part, and on July 28, your team will receive a long list of accomplishments to finish by Aug. 4.
The winning team will receive an all-expense-paid trip to a yet to be announced location.
A portion of the GISH registration fees will be donated to the Lucky Dog Animal Rescue.
