KANE — The Borough of Kane will be celebrating National Night Out from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Kane Fire Hall, 50 Poplar St.
The Kane Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police, the McKean County Sheriff’s Department, the Kane Volunteer Fire Department and the Kane VFW Post 1132 will be taking part.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safe, more caring places to live.
During this free family friendly event, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and speak with local law enforcement agencies as well as the local volunteer fire men and women. Police cars and firetrucks will be on hand for viewing, as will specialized equipment and informational materials. Additionally, members of the VFW will be there to discuss our nation’s armed services. The Kane Volunteer Fire Department will have hot dogs for purchase and the Kane Lions Club will have cotton candy and snow cones available. There will also be a DJ, balloon animals and face painting.
This event is held nationwide, with over 38 million people from approximately 16 thousand communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide participating. It is nationally sponsored by National Association of Town Watch, Dietz and Watson, Ring, Associa and Package Guard.
