SMETHPORT — McKean County will enter a grant agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services for the Medical Assistance Transportation Program Grant Agreement and Assurance of Compliance and sign the allocation letter for the grant, according to a measure the county commissioners approved Monday.
McKean County’s tentative allocation for fiscal year 2018-19 is $733,582. The counties are required to effectively manage this program and make every effort to stay within the allocation.
Under this agreement, the county assumes full responsibility for assuring that non-emergency medical transportation services are provided to eligible Medical Assistance recipients who need this service.
In other matters, commissioners — Vice-Chairman Cliff Lane, who conducted the brief meeting, and Carol Duffy — approved one invoice. This payment of $19,947.50 goes to the Area Transportation Authority and represents a portion of their budget allocation for the period of July 1, 2018, through Sept. 30, 2018.
Also gaining the nod were two County Aid applications. Bradford Township’s request for $10,822 will be used for purchasing salt and anti-skid material. Wetmore Township’s $5,917 will be allocated for a chip and seal project.
Commissioners also OKd numerous service provider agreements for the county’s Department of Human Services.
Tabled until the commissioners’ July 24 meeting was the presentation of certificates of appointments to the McKean County Local Emergency Planning Committee so the nine appointees can be present.
