The McKean County Shrine Club and Orak Grotto are teaming up to host the inaugural Christmas in July Craft & Vendor Flea Market from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. July 14 at the Bradford Masonic Center on South Avenue.
The event will feature a chicken barbecue and Chinese auction.
“There will be crafters with wooden items, direct sales vendors; there will be a few flea market-type vendors,” said event Chairperson Andrea Glantz.
The chicken barbecue is from 11 a.m. until the chicken is gone.
Pre-sale chicken barbecue tickets are available for $10 at the following locations: Bradford Notary, Hull Electric, Sportsman’s Outlet, Jennifer McMillen State Farm Insurance, Lloyd’s Keystone and A Cut Above Hairstyling. The purchase of each ticket also includes entrance into a $50 drawing that will be held at 3 p.m.
Glantz added, “(The event) has a little bit of everything. There are vendors coming who have never set up in the Bradford area before. There is a variety of stuff for everybody.”
Glantz said that the proceeds will help the organizations continue helping local families receive medical and child services through the Shriners Hospitals for Children-Erie and CARE for Children in Bradford.
“My husband and my dad are both involved in the Shrine and the Grotto, and I wanted to help raise money for them,” she said. “So we tried to bring together more people to help.”
Over 30 vendors will occupy more than 40 tables. However, a limited number of 8-foot vendor tables and 12-by-12-foot outside sites are available –– both for $15. The event will take place rain or shine.
