EMPORIUM — Pennsylvania State Police in Cameron County have charged two individuals following a raid resulting from a tip received during an unrelated traffic stop.
Donald A. Osti Jr., age 40, and his sister, Michele Lynn Osti, age 31, were both charged with numerous counts related to the illegal possession of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia, according to the affidavit of probable cause on file at Magisterial District Barry Brown’s office in Emporium.
During a routine traffic stop on June 27, state troopers received information that led them to seek and secure a warrant to search a residence located at 241 Dexter St. in the Emporium Borough.
A search of the residence was conducted on June 29. Within the bedroom of Donald Osti Jr. police allege they found multiple items, including a black lock box containing a number of small, clear plastic baggies, a Suboxone sublingual film strip, hypodermic needles, a spoon and baggie with residue, and a baggie with approximately 1 gram of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Also found were additional items including a scale, smoking devices and an energy-drink style can with a concealed compartment inside.
Police also searched Michele Osti’s bedroom, and indicated that they found hypodermic needles, several glass smoking devices, straws, clear plastic baggies containing a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine, several cut pills and other items.
Donald Osti has been charged with one felony count of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.
Michele Osti faces misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Attorney information is not yet listed for either defendant. A preliminary hearing for Donald Osti has been scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 16. Michele Osti’s preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 16. Both hearings will be held at Brown’s office in the Cameron County Courthouse.
