SMETHPORT (EC) — Luminaries are still available for sale at several locations for the fireworks Saturday night in Smethport, according to the McKean County Historical Society, which sponsored the rain-shortened “Arts on the Island” arts and crafts show last weekend.
The luminaries, which can be purchased as memorials, are white bags with flameless candles and sand for stability. They are on sale at the Old Jail Museum, The Hubber Café and McKean County E-Sales.
At 7 p. m. Saturday, volunteers for the historical society will place the luminaries around the perimeter of Hamlin Lake and they will be lit at 8:30 p.m., prior to the fireworks at dusk.
