A Bradford man was arraigned Thursday for allegedly defecating in broad daylight in the parking lot of the Auto Spa car wash.
James Zanelli, 65, of 7 Avenue B, is charged with open lewdness and disorderly conduct, third-degree misdemeanors.
According to court records, at 4:08 p.m. June 5, police were called for a report of a suspicious male at the car wash on the corner of West Washington Street and Marion Avenue. The person who called said she saw a man urinate, then drop his shorts and defecate near the edge of the pavement of the parking lot. The male then began digging through the garbage can at the car wash, then got back into his small, silver convertible and drove east on West Washington Street.
She gave a description of the man to police. Five minutes later, police found a man matching that description parked at McDonald’s, where he was putting the top up on his convertible. He was identified as Zanelli, and police asked him about the complaint; he denied it, court records read.
The officer went to the car wash, spoke with several witnesses and observed feces on the ground, the records read.
Zanelli was arraigned before District Judge Dom Cercone and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court July 5. He is represented by attorney Greg Henry.
