A Bradford man was arraigned Friday on three more cases involving theft — two from vehicles and one of a pressure washer outside of a business.
Mathew Louser, 32, of 43 Forman St. Apt. 2, is charged with a second-degree misdemeanor theft from a motor vehicle for allegedly taking a wallet from a truck on Forman Street; first-degree misdemeanor theft by receiving for allegedly taking a power washer that was being used to clean the outside of a business; and with first-degree misdemeanor theft from a motor vehicle for allegedly taking a briefcase from inside a convertible parked at the Bradford Club.
The alleged thefts happened between May 24 and June 7, police said.
When he was interviewed by police after the June 7 theft, Louser confessed to these and other thefts, according to the criminal complaint. At first he told police he steals things because “voices were telling him things,” but then he said he steals “to get money to buy drugs because he hurts,” the complaint read.
He was arraigned before District Judge Dom Cercone and remanded to jail on a total of $5,500 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on June 28.
Louser is also facing charges in other cases, including two counts of theft from a motor vehicle, one a second-degree misdemeanor and the other a third-degree misdemeanor, and two counts of receiving stolen property, a second-degree misdemeanor and a third-degree misdemeanor.
In those cases, dated June 8, he allegedly took a purse from a vehicle parked behind the VA Medical Clinic, and a duffle bag containing a laptop computer from a car parked behind the Grocery Stretcher.
Louser was committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, and is scheduled to appear in Central Court June 28 on those charges as well.
Also on June 7, in McKean County Court, Louser asked for a trial in two previous theft cases. In one of the older cases, he faces a single count of criminal attempt-theft from a motor vehicle, and in the second, he faces charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
He has not been convicted in either case, and a trial date has yet to be set.
