COUDERSPORT –– Coudersport-based state police released the names of the men involved in an attempted homicide Friday in Genesee Township.
At about 1:14 p.m., police say that John Thomas Polen IV, 21 and Turner N. Polen, 91, both of Genesee, became engaged in a verbal dispute when John fired a single round from a 9 millimeter gun, striking Turner, near 221 Corcoran Road.
Turner was airlifted to Jones Memorial Hospital in New York state. Police did not say what injuries he suffered.
John was taken into custody without incident and arraigned in front of District Judge Annette Easton on one count of criminal attempt homicide; two counts of aggravated assault and one count of recklessly endangering another person.
John was remanded to the Potter County Jail without bail.
