SMETHPORT — A Rixford man who is not allowed to possess firearms due to his criminal history was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court to state prison for firearm-related charges.
William J. Tipton, 52, of Rixford, will serve five to 10 years in state prison with credit for 475 days of time served for charges of possession of firearm prohibited and endangering the welfare of a child.
Tipton entered a guilty plea May 17 to allegations that on Sept. 25, 2016, he possessed a 9 mm handgun, despite being forbidden to do so, and he endangered a 6-year-old child by allowing the child to shoot the firearm next to his residence without ear or eye protection.
Also in court, James R. Dixon, 29, of Bradford, will serve nine months to two years in state prison with credit for 143 days of time served for a charge of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance. Dixon pleaded guilty June 7 to allegations that on March 21, 2017, he delivered about .42 grams of crack cocaine while under the surveillance of the McKean County Drug Task Force.
Herbert H. Leininger, 60, of Bradford, will serve 20 days to 18 months in McKean County Jail for a charge of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.
Leininger pleaded guilty May 24 to allegations that on July 5, 2016, in Bradford City, he delivered 10 dihydrocodeinone pills.
Angelo Mininni, 48, of Bradford, will serve six to 18 months in McKean County Jail with credit for 106 days of time served for a charge of terroristic threats. He was also ordered to pay $647.35 in restitution. On May 24, Mininni pleaded guilty to allegations that on Feb. 28, he threatened to kill a woman with a knife.
Holly L. Major, 33, of Bradford, will serve 25 days to six months in McKean County Jail with credit for 25 days of time served and 18 months of probation, to be served concurrent to — or at the same time as — her jail term. She was also ordered to pay $1,275 in restitution. Major pleaded guilty May 10 to charges in three cases: a charge of criminal trespassing in one case, a charge of inhaling toxic releasing substances in a second case and a charge of conspiracy to commit retail theft in a third case. She’s accused of inhaling compressed air fumes on Nov. 26; agreeing with Cristy Curtis to commit retail theft on Jan. 10; and entering 115 Kennedy St., Bradford, without permission on Jan. 21.
Joshua D. Goodmote-Miller, 21, of Bradford, will serve seven days to four months in McKean County Jail with credit for two days of time served and 14 months of probation for a charge of simple assault. On May 10, Miller pleaded guilty to allegations that on June 3, 2017, after he was in a fight with another male, he struck the male — who was on the ground — in the head, causing a fracture and lacerations.
Precious A. McBride, 41, of Bradford, will serve 154 days to one year in McKean County Jail with credit for 154 days of time served for a charge of harassment.
McBride pleaded guilty June 7 to allegations that on Jan. 12 he threatened to kill a woman.
Vanessa A. Harvey, 21, of Bradford, and Skyler S. Smith, 27, of Bradford, will each serve one year of probation for charges of simple assault. On May 24, the pair pleaded guilty to allegations that they engaged in a mutual consent fight on March 12.
