SMETHPORT — A program about invasive plants will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. June 16 at the McKean County 911 conference center in Smethport.
The program, hosted by North Central Forest Landowners Association, will be “Invasive Plants: Identification, Monitoring, and Management” by Dr. Kimberly Bohn, Forestry Extension Educator for Penn State Extension.
Bohn will lead a program on invasive plants (and what you can do about it) including learning to identify the many non-native invasive plants in our area, how to monitor and track invasive plants using the iMapInvasives tools, as well as some recommended mechanical or herbicide treatments for controlling various invasive plants.
This event is open to all without charge.

The landowners association welcomes new members year around. Full individual membership is open to all owners of five or more acres of woodland within McKean, Potter, Cameron and Elk counties.
