A Bradford woman is in McKean County Jail for allegedly threatening to kill a woman who reported her for “squatting” at the High Rise on Bushnell Street.
Maranda Lynn Strickland, 24, who is listed as homeless on court records, is charged with terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; theft, a second-degree misdemeanor; disorderly conduct, a third-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary offense.
According to court records, at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, Bradford City Police were called to the High Rise for a disturbance outside of the building. There, police found Strickland and two other women arguing. Police said Strickland wouldn’t calm down, and was placed in a patrol car.
Police said one woman admitted she had contacted the Housing Authority to report Strickland, and said Strickland took her cell phone. While she was in the patrol car, Strickland told police she was going to kill the woman when she got out, and that police couldn’t stop her, the records stated.
Police noted that earlier in the week, Strickland was cited for punching one of the women in an argument over a missing cigarette, court records alleged.
Strickland was arraigned before District Judge Rich Luther and remanded to jail on $25,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear in Central Court June 7.
