Assault charges against an Olean, N.Y., man were bound to McKean County Court Wednesday at a preliminary hearing held before District Judge Richard Luther.
Zachary M. Fisher, 23, is charged with aggravated assault, a first-degree felony; strangulation, a second-degree felony; two counts of simple assault, both second-degree misdemeanors; and criminal mischief, a summary charge.
According to court records, at 2 a.m. April 15, police were called to a Duke Center residence for a report of a domestic dispute.
Fisher allegedly pushed a woman to the floor during an argument. She tried to close herself in the bathroom, but Fisher forced his way into the bathroom and put his hands around her throat, choking her, the criminal complaint stated.
Fisher is free, having posted $20,000 bail.
