The invasive plant workshop, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kinzua Bridge State Park, will be held by the Allegheny Plateau Invasive Plant Management Area. Participants will learn how to help monitor invasive plants to begin a control program for problem species.
Workshop topics will include invasive plant identification and ecology; mapping and reporting invasive plants using iMapinvasives; a field demonstration with hands-on identification tips; information on joining the citizen science volunteer network; and a free lunch and ID book.
The backyard conservation workshop will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Poor Farm Barn (Good Growing Gardens next to the Smethport 911 Center.
This evening workshop will host speakers covering helping pollinators, soil health, and choosing native plants. Information for gardeners and landowners will be presented. There will be free snacks and door prizes.
