ALLEGANY, N.Y. — St. Bonaventure University has hired Dr. Keith Young to build a graduate program in physician assistant studies. He begins work June 1.
Young is a clinical associate professor of physician assistant studies at Clarkson University. He also serves as chair and program director of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies.
“Dr. Young’s appointment to this critical role is the first step in our plans to add a graduate practitioner degree to our growing portfolio of undergraduate programs in our School of Health Professions,” said Dr. Joseph Zimmer, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs.
“To be able to recruit a program director of the quality of Dr. Young will help us achieve our goal of creating and sustaining high quality physician assistant programming,” Zimmer said.
St. Bonaventure established a School of Health Professions in the fall of 2016, hired Dr. Doug Pisano in June 2017 as dean of the school, and now offers two undergraduate majors: health science and public health.
St. Bonaventure is also recruiting directors to build programs in nursing and occupational therapy.
Young is a member of the New York State Society of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
