It was too close to call in the 12th District Congressional race between Democrats Judy Herschel and Marc Friedenberg in Tuesday’s primary election. Meanwhile, Tom Marino, R-Williamsport, sealed the Republican nomination.
Unofficial results for Tuesday’s primary election from the Associated Press showed Herschel, a former drug counselor from Susquehanna County, receiving 11,344 votes, or 51 percent, and Friedenberg, who teaches cybersecurity at Penn State’s main campus, 11,091 votes, or 49 percent.
For Marino, he garnered 36,582 votes, or 68 percent, and Bradford County Commissioner Doug McLinko,17,221 votes, or 32 percent, according to the AP.
Marino will face off against Herschel or Friedenberg in the November general election. The 12th District includes Potter County.
