A number of Bradford United soccer teams were in action over the weekend.
Signature Smile Designs Inc: Kurt J. Laemmer DMD U9 Coed (1-0-2) tied Frewsburg 3-3 on Saturday. Jaron Lohrman had two goals and Evan Troisi added a goal and an assist for Bradford. Mason Close (six saves) and Alexis Kicior (four saves) combined in goal for United. Lucas Sokoly and Henry Abrams contributed solid defensive performances. Troisi was named the STAR player of the game by Frewsburg.
Allegheny Site Management U11 Girls (0-3) lost to Enchanted Mountain SC 5-3 on Saturday. Kierstin Taylor recorded the hat trick for Bradford. Miley Swanson, Bella Prince, and Jaydon Hogue each had an assist for United. Samantha Miller (four saves) and Madison Rimer (5 saves) combined in goal. Miller was named the STAR player of the game by EMSC.
Kessel Construction U13 Girls (0-4) lost to Enchanted Mountain SC 2-0 on Saturday. Thirteen girls held a much larger EMSC team to 0-0 at halftime. In the second half, it was too much for the Bradford girls who gave up a goal in the middle and end of the half. Camryn Tilford and Dawn Flynn combined in goal to make seven saves for United. Bailee Fitzsimmons, Kiara Hogue, Amber Eschrich, Adriana Campogiani, and Paige Smith played solid defense, keeping the team in the game until the end. Fitzsimmons was named the STAR player of the game by EMSC.
Bradford United U19 Thruway Team (0-1) lost 4-0 to Rochester Lancers Academy Saturday. Conner Golley recorded five saves in goal for Bradford. United began its first Thruway League game at a disadvantage due to a significantly limited roster as a result of injury and other player conflicts. Despite these challenges the boys played hard and well, nearly converting the first goal of the game late in the first half when Cam Larabee smashed a 28 yard shot off of the crossbar. The first half ended with the teams deadlocked at 0-0.
Shortly into the second half, Bradford narrowly missed another chance. This one coming off a Jake Johnson free kick that Brandon Morrow just missed converting for a tally. The Rochester Lancers Academy finally broke through in the 60th minute with the games first goal. The two teams continued to exchange chances until Bradford ran out of gas in the last 10 minutes and conceded 3 late goals. Jake Johnson was very good controlling play in the back despite the difficult result.
Dallas Morris Drilling U15 Girls (0-3) lost 1-0 to Bemus Area Youth Soccer Organization Sunday afternoon. Lacey Rogers had six saves in goal. Lauren Placer, Jade Jimmerson and Emily Shields played excellent defense, allowing few shots. Chloe Shaw, Emily Bosworth and Marissa Miller played with high effort and grit.
C.J. Wallace Engineering U15 Boys (0-2-2) tied Enchanted Mountain SC 1-1 on Sunday. Gavin McGee scored the lone goal for Bradford. Jon Komidar and Caleb Geist assisted on the goal for United. Tyler O’Neil made nine saves in goal. Drage Waterman and Hunter Stuck had outstanding offensive performances in the game while Tripp Hoover and Jaydon Warnick turned in solid defensive efforts. Darec Funke was named the STAR player of the game by EMSC.
Foster Brook Glass & Mirror U18 Girls (2-1) upped their record on the season with a 7-2 victory over Enchanted Mountain SC B Sunday afternoon. Regan Johnson led the team with four goals. Mackenzie Lucas, Laney Kahle, and Victoria Stuck also found the back of the net.
Picking up assists for Bradford were Lucas (3), Johnson, Kylie Lekas (2), Stuck, Kahle, Emily Bisker, Mykalia Bond, and Victoria Coppella. Samantha Thomas was in net for Bradford making 4 saves. The back line of Alivia Laird, Coppella, Samantha Tanner, Amaya Gonzalez, Bisker, Samantha Grey, and Elizabeth Miller handled any pressure from EMSC with workman like precision keeping shots to the minimum.
Sundahl U18 Boys (1-0-1) defeated Randolph 3-0 Sunday. Ian Grady scored two goals and Drew Auteri scored one for Bradford. Ayron Hart had two assists while Alex Marrone and Noal Neel each had one assist for United. Gavin Piscitelli and Evan Schmidt combined for six saves in goal. Brennan Grady, Isaiah Pingie, and Ryan Miller had very good performances. Ian Grady scored in the first minute then had a second with 15 minutes remaining in the first half. Drew Auteri put a spectacular chip over the goalkeeper just before the half time whistle to settle the game for Bradford.
