A Bradford woman performing community service at Bradford Area Public Library last month has been charged with stealing from staff while there.
Jessie Starr Jones, 36, of 15 Pearl St., is charged with three counts each of theft by deception and receiving stolen property, third-degree misdemeanors, and two counts of access device fraud, third-degree misdemeanors.
According to court records, Bradford City Police were called to the library for a reported theft. The library director told police that Jones had worked there, performing community service. After Jones left, staff members realized they were missing items, like cash and bank cards. They watched surveillance footage and saw Jones had taken items from employees’ personal bags, the records allege.
Jones was arraigned Friday before District Judge Dom Cercone and released on $2,500 percentage bail. She is scheduled to appear in Central Court May 17.
