Alyssa Shelander drove in eight runs to pace Otto-Eldred to a 23-1 win in three innings over Bradford in non-league action on Tuesday.
The Terrors (8-5) struck for 11 runs in the first inning on six walks and seven hits. Shelander got her big game started with three RBI on two singles in that inning. She added a three-run double in the second inning.
Reilly Raght (3-for-4, 5 RBI) and Camryn Thomas (3-for-4, 4 RBI) also had big days at the plate for Otto.
Emily Sheeler allowed just two hits and struck out five in her three innings of work on the mound for O-E.
The loss dropped Bradford to 0-14 on the season.
“We had more girls on the bases tonight,” Bradford head coach Jennifer Snow said. “We weren’t able to translate that to runs but it’s a positive improvement.”
Coudersport 7, Bolivar-Richburg 3
BOLIVAR — Joplin Osgood homered and doubled with three RBI and Coudersport benefitted from five B-R errors in a cross-state showdown win.
EmmaRae Easton added a two-run single while she and Madison Smith combined to allow just five hits for the Falcons (7-3).
“Our fielding wasn’t where it should have been tonight,” B-R coach Mark Emery said. “As is normal in this game, if you give extra outs, you usually pay the price for them.”
Braelynn Reese went 2-for-4 while Bella Gordon posted an RBI single for Bolivar.
Sydney Root and Aliyah Cole gave up just four hits for the Wolverines (10-3) on the mound.
Cameron County 7, OV 3
Laila Smith threw a complete game for the second consecutive day to lead the Red Raiders over Oswayo Valley.
Smith struck out six and walked three as Cameron County (7-6) came back from an early deficit.
The Green Wave struck for two runs in the bottom of the first and held that lead until the fifth inning. Cam County scored three in the fifth and then added four insurance runs in the sixth inning to build its lead.
Amily Schatz went 2-for-4 with two RBI to lead Cameron County at the dish.
Karina West went all seven innings on the bump for OV (1-12), striking out five batters. She was done in by five errors, which led to only one of those seven runs being earned.
Shayla Bickell had two hits and drove in two runs to pace the Green Wave offense.
