DUKE CENTER — The Lady Terrors used a seven-run second inning to defeat the Green Wave at home on Monday.
After falling behind 4-1 after the first inning, Otto (2-2) was boosted by the play of a trio of freshmen: Reilly Raught (two-run double), Emily Sheeler (2-for-3, double), and Kaylee Heller (3-for-4, 3 RBI, double) all had big days at the plate.
“Our freshmen really played well tonight,” O-E coach Andre Veilleux said. “They combined to go 6-for-8 three doubles.”
Also contributing for the Terrors were Camryn Thomas (1-for-3, triple, 2 RBI) and Alyssa Shelander (1-for-2, double, 2 RBI), who also went the distance on the mound and finished with four strikeouts, three walks, and seven hits.
Karina and Macy West combined for six strikeouts, nine walks, and 10 hits on the mound for Oswayo Valley (0-5).

DUBOIS — The Lady Falcons hung around with one of the best teams in the district, but ultimately the Lady Cardinals proved to be too much to handle.
Shayleigh Gulvas led the way at the plate for DCC (9-0) with a double and 2 RBI.
For Coudersport (3-2), Shaelyn Black and Paiton Whipple both recorded 2 RBI, with Chelsea Streich adding two base hits.
Madison Smith finished with six strikeouts, three walks, and six hits on the mound.
“It was a pretty good game,” Coudy coach Dan Counts said. “They’ve been beating up on a lot of people and we wanted to see where we were at. They beat us in the district championship last year. Today they made fewer mental errors than we did and they came out on top.”
Despite the loss, Counts was happy with how his team played against such tough competition.
“It’s fun playing those types of games,” Counts said.
The Lady Falcons travel to Cameron County this afternoon.
