SMETHPORT — A former Hamlin Township official convicted of stealing from the municipality will serve two additional years of probation due to the amount of money she still owes.
Former township secretary-treasurer Julie S. Graham-Olson, 58, still owes $76,243.25 in restitution and court costs, President Judge John Pavlock said on Thursday in McKean County Court.
On March 20, 2014, Olson pleaded guilty to charges of forgery and theft by unlawful taking for allegations that between February 2010 and Nov. 26, 2013, she forged the names of two township supervisors on multiple checks, receiving about $10,000 in township funds. Additionally, she took somewhere between $50,000 and $100,000 in township funds during the time.
At the time Graham-Olson was sentenced on April 24, 2014, she was ordered to pay $77,000 in restitution.
The online court docket indicates she was also ordered to pay $1,057.75 in court costs.
She was initially sentenced to nine to 23 ½ months in jail, followed by two years of probation.
On Thursday, Olson’s probation was revoked, and she was re-sentenced to two years of additional probation. She was also ordered to continue to follow her payment plan.
Olson appeared without an attorney on Thursday.
