EMPORIUM — Allyson Narby hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 8th to send Cameron County to a 10-9 victory over Oswayo Valley 10-9 on Wednesday.
After giving up three runs in the top half of the seventh inning, CC scored four runs of its own in the bottom half of the frame to send the game into extras.
The Red Raiders (3-1) scattered 14 hits in the game, including three each from Laila Smith and Kelsee Reid. Four different girls had at least two RBI for the victors.
Despite giving up nine runs, Smith struck out nine batters and picked up a complete game victory.
Oswayo Valley (1-3) also got a complete game effort from its starter.
“Karina West did a really nice job tonight,” Oswayo Valley coach Tim Morey said. West threw 13 strikeouts, and held Cameron County scoreless for the game’s first three innings. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI.
OV also got a two-run homer from J. Snyder in the top of the seventh.
Both teams are in action again on Friday. The Green Wave travel to Smethport, while Cameron County hosts DuBois CC.
