RIDGWAY — A Johnsonburg man is in Elk County Jail after allegedly starting a fire April 4 in Johnsonburg Borough.
According to court records, James Luke Coons, 34, is charged with arson-danger of death or bodily injury, a first-degree felony; reckless burning or exploding and risking catastrophe, both third-degree felonies.
Coons was arraigned Friday before District Judge Mark Jacob, records indicate.
He was jailed on $15,000 bail, and a preliminary hearing is set for April 25.
The St. Marys Daily Press reported that Coons set fire to a 2005 Cadillac SRX and a 1988 camper that were parked by a neighbor’s home near 399 Terra Cotta Road in Johnsonburg.
Ridgway attorney Gary Knaresboro is listed as Coons’ lawyer.
