The latest players named to the Big 30 Charities Classic Football game set to be played in August were released on Friday. Here are three of the newest additions:
Devin Gilmore
Ridgway Area High School
Height: 6’- Weight: 185 Lbs.
Offense: RG- Defense: DE
Devin plans to attend Penn State or Carnegie Mellon University and major in Computer Science. Devin is a member of the National Honor Society and the French Honor Society. He is also a Principal High Honor Roll Member. Devin says playing in the Big 30 Game is an honor and a once in a lifetime opportunity. His most memorable moment playing football was winning the District 9 Championship on his birthday. His hobby is skiing, and his favorite NFL team is the Philadelphia Eagles and his favorite player is Nick Foles.
Devin Palumbo
Cameron County High School
Height: 6’2”- Weight: 210 Lbs.
Offense: TE- Defense: MLB
Devin wants to get a job at General Electric and retire at 40, then coach High School football. Devin won a district championship in wrestling and lettered in football in 9-11-12th grades. He says to play in the Big 30 Game has been a dream of his since he was ten years old. His best football memory was being Kings of the North in 2014 when he was a freshman. His hobbies include, listening to music, backstreet football, baseball, wrestling and hanging out with his girlfriend. Devin’s favorite NFL team is the Baltimore Ravens and his favorite player was Ray Lewis.
Derek Miller
Southwestern
Height: 6’2”- Weight: 175 Lbs.
Offense: WR- Defense: S
Derek plans to attend Penn-State Behrend and major in Political Science, then attend law school. Derek was named Class C First Team all- League at wide receiver. In addition, he was named CCAA First Team All-League in track and field for the triple jump. Derek was also named his teams captain in varsity basketball. Derek is looking forward to playing one last football game with the Areas best players. His most memorable moment playing was catching a touchdown pass in our second consecutive trip to New Era Field in the Class C playoffs. His hobbies include working at the movie theater and hanging out with his friends. His favorite NFL team is the N.Y. Giants and his favorite player is Odell Beckham Jr.
