A teacher suspended from Bradford Area High School, accused of providing alcohol to students, waived a preliminary hearing Tuesday before District Judge Richard Luther.
Melissa J. Krepps, 33, of Custer City, was also arraigned Tuesday on the single charge — conspiracy to furnish liquor to minors, a third-degree misdemeanor. She was released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
According to court records, Krepps is facing the charge for her role in a party that was held Dec. 22 at a fire pit on her property in Bradford Township, where high school students from her class who were under the age of 21 were allegedly drinking alcohol.
The criminal complaint in her case indicates that a teacher at the high school informed a school resource officer about the alleged party.
Also arraigned Tuesday on the same charge were Anthony J. Davis of Custer City and Bryan Tyger, 21, of Bradford. They were also released on unsecured bail.
Criminal complaints allege that Davis, who was under the age of 21, hosted the party and provided money for the purchase of a 30-pack of beer for the event; meanwhile, Tyger allegedly purchased beer for the party, though he did not attend.
The property is owned by Krepp; Davis is a tenant in a rental unit on the same property as Krepps’ residence, according to Bradford Township Police.
Krepps, who was an English teacher at the school, has been suspended during the investigation, Superintendent Katharine Pude said at the time the charges were filed.
Also at that time, Bradford Township Police Chief Robb Shipman said there was an ongoing investigation for other allegations, but he did not provide further details.
